The same thing happens to me. I find it easier to draw less than perfect subjects and bodies - character and wrinkles seem easier to capture with a line than the symmetry of perfect beauty. But its all about the experience of life drawing, the challenge and the lessons learned. I had a bad day at portrait painting in my life session this week - its all part of the journey.

ReplyDeleteLife drawing is very challenging, and back when I was lucky enough to be a in a group, I was surprised by how much my reaction to the model affected my drawing.
